I have written a letter of objection to the selling of alcohol from the post office on Haunch Lane, see letter below.
In my role as Ward Chairman of the Brandwood Ward Committee I would like to comment upon the recently application for the selling of alcohol from the Post Office on Haunch Lane, Kings Heath. It is proposed for opening hours from 7am to 11pm, 7 days a week.
• I am concerned that this will lead to more anti-social behavior and it is currently a hot spot.
• Litter is already a problems within the area despite the increased resources that are put into the area. Again I believe this will add to this.
• This could lead to the selling of cheap alcohol as there are other stores selling alcohol nearby. Where measures have been put in place in the city centre to stop the selling of cheap alcohol this has helped reduce alcohol related problems. There are already problems of alcohol within the area, this is just the sort of thing that will add to this.
